happenings.

hey gang, happy sunday! hope this finds you well and enjoying a bit of sunshine wherever you may be. the sun is playing games with us today, which my washing and i don't much care for. everything has to be packed up and ready to rock by tomorrow at 8am. that's right ladies and gentlemen...moving day is tomorrow! the past 6 weeks has felt like one big dream. i am craving some normality, a clear head, a healthier outlook and just getting my things unpacked so i can play...i mean...display...i mean use it all! for those of you on instagram i apologise (only a little as i know you'll secretly love it) in advance for the amount of photos of the new house/arrangements/pretty things/collections/more pretty things that you will be subjected to in the coming days. the reality is that i'm nervous too. after settling down for what will be 6 weeks of having clothes in washing baskets, passports and important documents who-knows-where and my johnson collection alllll packed up and outta sight, i'm just about over it. leaving nomadville means i will finally be able to unpack and release my creativity. my roomie and i both having our own studio space in the house will be invaluable and i cannot wait to take you on some room tours (apartment therapy i love you.) i am looking forward to weekends of creative freedom, trying out new recipes, riding my bike around my pretty new neighbourhood and having plenty of afternoon tea behaviour with my favourites. thank you for reading and supporting me along the way you beautiful, beautiful people.

L is for love, and laura and lunch. better get onto that.

oh and lemon meringue pie. devoured yesterday whilst enjoying afternoon tea with my lovelies.

hey paris, you beautiful thing. see you in june, and in my dreams.

a midweek treat.

rediscovering thrifted barkcloth from back in the day. love.

saturday morning thrifty behaviour. finds on the blog later.

a little love.

so i originally thought i'd pick a handful of my favourite instagram feeds to show you but as you can see by my selection...it has just kept growing. i have received A LOT of love from my fellow instagrammers as of late and i wanted to return a little to those inspiring me the most. of course i love a lot more than the 14 i've chosen but a few of them are super special and a shout out is in order. i'll keep it short and sweet, and just take the chance to say a big thank you to those following. your beautiful comments and pictures make my day so much brighter and i hope you'll have a peek at my favourites below and bring a little sunshine to their day too.

errymerry. i've just started following this creative lady and i am already in awe of her extensive vintage wallpaper collection. this woman knows her patterns. get ready to spend a few hours with her colour filled pictures.

foxslane. this lady is no stranger to the blog world and her instagram feed is just as delightful. her delicious pictures of homegrown berries, baking achievements and cutie pie pics of her youngest daughter pepper just keep me coming back for more.

hildagrahnat. i have serious apartment envy when it comes to this lady. she knows how to thrift, presents her food like nobody else and has the most beautiful photographs to prove it. i love her blog and now i love her quirky instagram feed.

kelliebenard. i met this beautiful lady at suitcase rummage. she finds treats that make my heart beat faster, has the most decadent floral filled lunches and picnics and knows good vintage floral when she sees it. what's not to love?

nanettelf. am i showing you a page from the latest issue of inside out? well, i could be...this lady has serious display talent. i drool over images of her home and am constantly inspired by her ability to display her collected treasures. inside out are you listening?

gentlefolk. a real gem. noticing i had a small 'thing' for johnson crockery on my blog, i was sent an email by this generous soul to ask if i wanted some of her johnson destash. a local stranger that has quickly become one of my favourites. the beauty of the everyday is captured in her beautiful feed.

ashleighbourke. she just so happens to be one of my best friends but oh boy is this woman talented. a florist by day and stationary lover by night, she knows a beautiful floral arrangement when she sees one and can sniff a kikki k sale out for miles. a real treasure. flowers abound in this gorgeous feed.

lovekatyha. could she be any sweeter? i'm not even talking about her amazing baked treats that she oh so beautifully arranges to bedazzle her viewers with decadence! a loyal follower of mine, i have been waiting for the perfect moment to return the favour. her light filled images are total eye candy...seriously, why are you still reading this?! go!

_ruby_ruth. seriously, were we seperated at birth? this woman channels everything that is vintage and beautiful. she knows how to arrange flowers (she's a florist) and fills her little home so successfully with some of the most beautifully opshopped goodness around. check out her feed...no, you're not looking at mine. this woman is a winner!

littlepoppa. it all started with a stream of photos from her albany road trip. there were photos of treasures flying at me and i didn't know what to do. i couldn't tell her enough how awesome her eye for beautiful crockery was. until i did, and what does she do? she finds a duplicate johnson teapot (that i've been searching my whole opshop life for) and tells me it's mine. could you be more generous beautiful lady? i am in awe. johnson lovers..this feed is for you!

tamaraerbacher. i'm not sure who i have to thank for directing me over tamara's way but thank you instagram gods. this feed is a real treat. so dreamy, so delicate and photos of her youngest boy (she has 5) will make your heart melt. with 5 boys i am in complete awe of her ability to keep life so simple and beautiful. the photo above had me smitten from the get go.

littlejanest. a total favourite of many, i know...but seriously her latest stream of photos makes my heart bounce back and forward (that's a good thing.) i've been collecting her handmade treats long before i knew much about this soon to be mama. vintage dresses, paper clouds and ampersand magnets...this lady's got it goin' on!

pannka. her photos are so dreamy with their rounded corners, slices of the eiffel tower and the beauty of her local surroundings. so dreamy that i often fall into her dotty, floral filled world for many a photo. did i mention she lives in paris? oui? tres bon.

ohsolovelyerin. no introduction needed, i'm sure. this woman works colour like nobody's business. her kitchen is to die for and i fall in love with every single vintage vignette she snaps. anyone who adores peach and turquoise together (and has a house filled with the combo) is a hero of mine. a real delight.

on ya bike.

why helloooo there. it feels like forever since i touched base with you guys. i must admit i've been cheating on blogger with a little well known new trend called instagram. but let's save that for another post. (tomorrow!) i hope this finds you well on this rather balmy sunday evening. i have a zucchini slice in the oven, i've just finished packing some of my latest thrifty finds away for my impending move (in 7 days!!!) and i'm dreaming up cupcake designs for my housewarming. you know, the important stuff. it's been an ok week, the sun has stuck around which is always nice in what can only be described as monsoon season here in queensland. i've been on some thrifty adventures, beat the sickness and am back on the road/bike again heading to some rather fabulous places. as mentioned before, i move into my beautiful floral mansion in 7 days...something i almost forgot about during my bout of unwellness but oh boy are the excitement butterflies pounding in my belly right about now. the weekend started a little like this...yesterday has now been labelled the day that my partner in crime (aka my sister/photographer extraordinaire) and i decided to go on a 3 and a half hour bicycle adventure. there were bicycle baskets full of fresh fruit and veg, johnson teacups, burnt faces...arms..chests, floral sneakers, an amazing honey & nut slice devoured and a whooollleee lotta sweat (sorry, that's gross.) it was one of my most favourite adventures i've had with her. a journey that we'd planned to last a couple of hours turned into a trip around town with baskets full of goodies. this obviously left us with very little energy (and sunstroke!) for the afternoon but i soldiered on, heading to the real estate to sign some papers and oh yeah, pop by a favourite oppy. she didn't disapoint. i've been in transition for what will be six weeks this sunday and although i have enjoyed the change of scenery, i am yearning to get into my new place and unpack. the opshopping behaviour has gone into overdrive (probably due to the fact that everything i own is in boxes and i need a daily view of beautiful florally things, which i'm clearly not getting)...here steps in the weekly opshop jaunt. oops. sorry mr bank account. there's a smile on my dial and really, that's all that matters. today was a lazy sunday to begin with but ended with an officeworks visit (due to the need for more plastic storage tubs to contain said opshopped treats), afternoon tea at a favourite spot with kate and a mega cleanup/copenhagen trip planning/zucchini slice making/fabric photo taking/inside out reading kinda afternoon. a lovely sunday. now, i'm off to read your stories. xx

on my bike, the amazing nut & honey slice, lots of pretty bikes, kate.

the johnson delight picked up at the markets, floral flour sifter, my favourite johnson pattern, westminster love.
a new johnson pattern, roses on dinner plates, apple green suitcase find, dress to wear in paris.

unearthed this treasure (from my collection) that will hang in my new bedroom.

this afternoon's treat fest. perfect.

french fancy.

this is going to be a bit of a jumbled post of sorts. i have

pretty things to show you, some weekly happenings and some paris

love to share. it is the most beautiful sunny

saturday afternoon. the pear ciders are chilling in the fridge

ready for dinner at ash's tonight and i'm writing to you on the

front verandah of my very peaceful halfway house (aka sister's

house.) i've thrifted, spring cleaned and written lots of love

letters and it's not even 5pm. this week flights and

accommodation in paris were booked with 2 favourites, i was

approved for a house and was late to work twice. that last one

isn't quite in keeping with the other awesome news but made me

giggle all the same. i'm counting down the days until we get the

keys and i can snap photos of ever corner of that place. i am

THAT excited. the sound of the entire street's mowing

efforts has suddenly quietened. it's nearly cider'o'clock in my

city, i hope you have a beautiful rest of the evening and don't

mind me nosying around your spaces for a while. happy days. x

pyrex and johnson finds found during the week.

today's thrifting efforts.

some retro linen, patterns and cuteness found today.

treasures.

last week started well with my monthly monday off and picking up one of my favourite bits of furniture to date. the opshopping gods rewarded me with the treats you see below. saturday arrived and it was house hunting with guns blazing. finding a house is like a relationship, you must first fall in love and see yourself being with it for a while. for me though, it's all about the smaller touches (1930's floral carpet, pink bathroom and pale green walls.) let's just say i've applied for one and i'm in love. I have all fingers and toes crossed and should hear back as early as tomorrow afternoon. on a huge high i indulged in ciders and scrumptious food. i was in THE best mood. woke sunday morning feeling sick as a dog (and not due to the ONE cider!) i have no idea how to be sick, i'm a lucky girl who usually avoids all that bother. feeling much better now, thank goodness and ready to take on the week. hope yours is off to a good one! will be back on wednesday with a banana cake recipe. oh boy it's a goodie. x

the new love of my life.

some retro canister love.

pretty plate love.

an opshop trip is never complete without johnson.

some tablecloth and upholstery fabric love.

photo a day.

a big round of applause goes to our favourite sydney side mama for hosting such an inspiring everyday project. I stuck my teeth (and iphone) right into january's challenge and it soon became a topic of conversation wherever i went. as it's a hectic time for me (looking for a new house and having all of my fabrics and crafty bits in boxes) i haven't had the time to sit down and get creative like i know how. bring on an instagram challenge however, and i'm there. if you follow me, then you'll know i truly love and appreciate all of your comments and feedback...not forgetting the copious amounts of photos of everyones growing johnson crockery collection. yum-my! i've stumbled across a lot of lovely ladies on there and many familiar faces from the blog world (hi girls!) and it couldn't be more inspiring. chantelle, you can hold yourself accountable for this extra bit of love in the world. a february challenge i hear you cry? already underway..not too late to get on board. happy saturday all!

snippets from january.

february challenge!

and a sneak peek of a treat i picked up at the oppy during the week! back tomorrow with more finds.
